Volunteer Terms
These baseline terms apply when you submit a volunteer application through Marra Hub. The organisation you apply to may also provide program-specific rules.
Effective 18 August 2026 · Version 2026-08-18
1. Your application
You confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that the organisation may contact you about your application and volunteering opportunities. An application is not a guarantee of acceptance, a particular role or ongoing participation.
2. Conduct
- Treat community members, staff and other volunteers with respect and act inclusively.
- Follow reasonable instructions, role boundaries, privacy requirements and organisation policies.
- Attend accepted shifts or give reasonable notice if plans change.
- Do not harass, discriminate, exploit, threaten or endanger another person.
- Do not attend while impaired or use confidential information for personal benefit.
3. Safety and screening
Follow health, safety, emergency and child-safe procedures. Tell the organisation about hazards, incidents, injuries or circumstances that affect safe participation. Some roles may require identification, references, training, licences, a Working with Children Check or other screening. The organisation decides whether those requirements are satisfied.
Where possible, organisations should record a check number and verify it through the relevant official service rather than retain a scan. If an Owner/Admin stores a document, Marra Hub shows you that it is held and its scheduled deletion date. You may ask the organisation or Marra Hub to correct or delete information that is no longer required.
4. Privacy and confidentiality
Respect the privacy of community members, participants and fellow volunteers. Access personal information only where needed for your role, keep it secure and do not publish or share it without authority. Your application information is handled under the Privacy Policy and the relevant organisation's privacy practices.
5. Young volunteers
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must be involved and give permission where required. The organisation may limit roles by age and require additional consent, supervision or safeguards.
6. Volunteer relationship
Volunteering is unpaid unless the organisation expressly agrees otherwise. These terms do not create employment, partnership or authority to bind Marra Community Hub Incorporated or the organisation. Ask the organisation before incurring expenses or assuming insurance applies.
7. Ending participation
You may withdraw at any time. An organisation may decline or end participation for safety, suitability, program changes, misconduct or failure to follow its requirements. Serious concerns may be referred to appropriate authorities where required.
8. Platform terms
Your use of Marra Hub is also subject to the Terms of Service. Questions about a role should go to the organisation offering it; questions about Marra Hub or your platform data can be sent to hello@marrahub.com.au.
